Meditation     “Those who dance are thought mad by those who hear not the music. That old adage is certainly true of those who walk to the beat of God's drum. When you take your cues from the Holy Spirit, you'll do some things that will make people think you're crazy. So be it. Obey the whisper and see what God does.” ~ Mark Batterson, Whisper: How to Hear the Voice of God

Prelude                                     “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee”                     Arr. Cindy Berry

Call to Worship
Let us celebrate the joy and hope of God’s Spirit here with us today.
As winds blow and storms rage, God is our strength and our refuge.
As floods rise and waves batter, God is our support and our comfort.
As wars kill and hatred abounds, God is our hope and our guide.
As greed reigns and cheating abounds, God is our help and our protector.
As prejudice remains and divisions flourish, God is our unity and our affirmation.
May God’s Spirit keep us ever safe and secure.
May God’s Holy Spirit be with us now, as we come to this time of worship, and celebrate the amazing power of God’s love.

Opening Hymn“Breathe on Me, Breath of God”                                      #220

Prayer of Invocation
O thirst-quenching God, You are living water for our parched souls. Your Word satisfies our deepest need; your Presence gives hope to the dried-up, the burnt-out, the lifeless and the lost. So come, Holy Spirit. Strike the stone of our hearts with a jolt of pure grace, and let new life pour forth. Refresh our spirits with the limitless power of your mercy and love. Empower us to hear the good news, and to believe it and live it.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
